RouteTraxx: Privacy Policy
BlueSky Wireless Ltd built the RouteTraxx app. This SERVICE is provided by BlueSky Wireless Ltd and is intended for use as is.
This page is used to inform visitors regarding our policies with the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information if anyone decided to use our Service.
If you choose to use our Service, then you agree to the collection and use of information in relation to this policy. The Personal Information that we collect is used for providing and improving the Service. We will not use or share your information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy.
The RouteTraxx app communicates with your company’s BlueSky Messaging Gateway, and all data is stored on that BlueSky Messaging Gateway.
What & Why
For a better experience, while using our Service, we may require you to provide us with certain identifiable information. The information that we request will be retained by us and used as described in this privacy policy.
Unique Device Identifier
We assign your device a unique identifier number when the app first starts. This identifier is tied only to your device, and is stored on your device. It is transmitted to your BlueSky Messaging Gateway and used to license devices on the BlueSky Messaging Gateway.
Unique Session Identifier
When you log in to the app, a unique session identifier is generated for your login session. This session identifier is tied to your login, and when you log out or your session expires the session identifier is deleted. It is stored in encrypted storage on your device, and stored on your BlueSky Messaging Gateway. This is used to identify which user you are logged in as.
Device Information
When you login, the following device information is collected and transmitted to your BlueSky Messaging Gateway:
- Device Manufacturer
- Device Model
- Device Name
- OS Version
This information is transmitted when you login to the RouteTraxx app, and is used by your BlueSky Messaging Gateway to register your device for the first time if your device has not previously been registered with the system. It is used to generate a name for your device, which is made up of the make, model and device name.
Device Activity
The app collects details of several events that occur on the device and reports them back to your BlueSky Messaging Gateway. These events are used to determine which devices are within active use, which can in turn be used to free up device licences on the BlueSky Messaging Gateway. The events captured are:
- Device Boot Up (Android only)
- App open
- Login
- Logout
These events are reported back to the server, along with the Device Identifier for the deice, and the time the event occurred at.
Location Information
We require location access so that we can monitor the SSID of the Wi-Fi network that you are connected to. This information never leaves your device, and we only ever access the Wi-Fi SSID (and not your exact location such as via co-ordinates).
We use the SSID that you’re connected to so that we can determine whether it’s possible to communicate directly with your BlueSky Messaging Gateway rather than communicating through the BlueSky Cloud Service.
The information describing how to connect directly to your BlueSky Messaging Gateway is provided via Managed Device Configuration by your company’s IT team. This information is configured depending on the Wi-Fi SSID.
In addition, we access your device’s location when scanning a location on a Patrol or reporting an Incident. Your device’s longitude, latitude, altitude, bearing, and speed are all transmitted back to your company’s BlueSky Messaging Gateway and logged for each location scan and for each incident.
Who We Share This Information With
This information is only stored on your BlueSky Messaging Gateway, and may be shared with the following entities:
- Your company’s IT staff, who may require information such as your device identifier in order to troubleshoot any issues with the functioning of your device.
- BlueSky Wireless Ltd, a company registered in the UK with company number 05719598. Security
We value your trust in providing us your Personal Information, thus we are striving to use commercially acceptable means of protecting it. But remember that no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure and reliable, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
Your control and access to your data
You have control over your personal data and how it’s collected. For example, you can:
- Delete your device from your BlueSky Messaging Gateway, by contacting your company’s IT team and asking them to remove your device. Note that you will no longer be able to perform any patrols after your device has been removed.
