RouteTraxx Setup: Privacy Policy

BlueSky Wireless Ltd built the RouteTraxx Setup app. This SERVICE is provided by BlueSky Wireless Ltd and is intended for use as is.

This page is used to inform visitors regarding our policies with the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information if anyone decided to use our Service.

If you choose to use our Service, then you agree to the collection and use of information in relation to this policy. The Personal Information that we collect is used for providing and improving the Service. We will not use or share your information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy.

The RouteTraxx Setup app communicates with your company’s BlueSky Messaging Gateway, and all data is stored on that BlueSky Messaging Gateway.

What & Why

For a better experience, while using our Service, we may require you to provide us with certain identifiable information. The information that we request will be retained by us and used as described in this privacy policy.

Unique Device Identifier

When the app first starts up, your device is assigned a unique identifier number. This identifier is tied solely to your device, and is stored on your device. It is transmitted to your BlueSky Messaging Gateway and used to license devices on the BlueSky Messaging Gateway.

Unique Session Identifier

When you log in to the app, a unique session identifier is generated for your login session. This session identifier is tied to your login, and when you log out or your session expires the session identifier is deleted. It is stored in encrypted storage on your device, and also on your BlueSky Messaging Gateway. The purpose of this session identifier is to identify which user you are logged in as.

Device Information

When you login, the following device information is collected and transmitted to your BlueSky Messaging Gateway:

  • Device Manufacturer
  • Device Model
  • Device Name
  • OS Version

This information is transmitted when you login to the BlueSky Communicator app, and is used by your BlueSky Messaging Gateway to register your device for the first time if it has not previously been registered. It is used to generate a name for your device, which is made up of the make, model and device name.

Device Activity

The app collects details of several events that occur on the device and reports them back to your BlueSky Messaging Gateway. These events are used to determine which devices are within active use, which can in turn be used to free up device licences on the BlueSky Messaging Gateway. The events captured are:

  • Device Boot Up (Android only)
  • App open
  • Login
  • Logout

These events are reported back to the server, along with the Device Identifier for the deice, and the time the event occurred at.

Location Information

We require location access so that we can pinpoint the GPS coordinates of any RouteTraxx location points which have been registered using the app, and also the BSSID of the Wi-Fi network that you are connected to at time of using the app.

The following GPS data is transmitted back to your BlueSky Messaging Gateway and stored alongside the RouteTraxx location point’s title and mapping position:

  • Latitude
  • Longitude
  • Altitude
  • Bearing
  • Speed
  • Accuracy
  • Wi-Fi BSSID

Location access can be revoked at any time, and this data will no longer be captured. However, doing so reduces the functionality of the RouteTraxx system as location points will no longer be geo-located.

Camera Access

We require camera access for 2 different purposes:

Scanning RouteTraxx Location QR Codes

RouteTraxx locations are based on QR codes, and to register a new RouteTraxx location you need to scan a QR code using the camera on your device. Only the data stored within the RouteTraxx QR code is saved from the scan and that is all that is sent to your BlueSky Messaging System.

Adding Photos For RouteTraxx Locations

When registering a new RouteTraxx location using the app, you may optionally add a photograph of the location. This will be uploaded to your BlueSky Messaging System.

Users can choose whether to add a photograph for a location or not.

Who We Share This Information With

This information is only stored on your BlueSky Messaging Gateway, and may be shared with the following entities:

  • Your company’s IT staff, who may require information such as the device identifier in order to troubleshoot any issues with the functioning of your device.
  • BlueSky Wireless Ltd, a company registered in the UK with company number 05719598. Security

We value your trust in providing us with your Personal Information, thus we are striving to use commercially acceptable means of protecting it. However, bear in mind that no method of data transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic data storage is 100% secure and reliable, and we cannot guarantee its absolute safety.

Your control and access to your data

You have control over your personal data and how it’s collected. For example, you can:

  • Delete your device from your BlueSky Messaging Gateway, by contacting your company’s IT team and asking them to remove your device.

Data including GPS location and photographs can only be removed by removing a RouteTraxx location from the system.
