Temperature Monitor Module
The Temperature Monitor event interface module allows the BlueSky Messaging System to monitor the temperatures of different areas using different temperature probes.
The Temperature Monitor module connects to a temperature sensor hardware device that BlueSky provide that can have a number of probes connected to be positioned in different locations to monitor different areas. Each temperature probe can be configured with different thresholds for different alarms:
- High temperature critical state
- High temperature alarm state
- High temperature warning state
- Low temperature warning state
- Low temperature alarm state
- Low temperature critical state
Each of these thresholds is configurable as °Celcius, and each can be disabled to prevent messaging for that threshold. Each temperature probe can be configured with different message attributes for when the temperature crosses a given threshold and when it returns back to normal:
- Message subject
- Message body
- Message priority
- Message destination
Key features
The key features of this module are:
- Monitor temperatures from a set of temperature probes that can be position independently.
- Configurable thresholds for different alarm states.
- Configurable message destinations for different alarms.
- Configurable escalation delay to prevent alarms triggering in case of rapid temperature fluctuations.
- Historical temperature status for each temperature probe can be easily viewed from a web page.
- Historical temperature status
Use cases
Some example use cases for this module include:
- Temperature monitoring for server rooms to detect overheating of key infrastructure.
- Temperature monitor for fridges and coolers to prevent spoilage of contents.
